
Phil Kirby, Managing Director
Phil has a strong track record in healthcare management, operating within the NHS in a senior management position for thirteen years before moving to his current role and supporting Health Intelligence’s customers deliver improved services for their patients.
A graduate from Keele University with a Masters in Business Administration Health Executive Programme, Phil is a key member of the organisation helping to set strategy, innovate and support. Of particular note, is Phil's expertise in the delivery and managment of population based solutions.
Phil’s role within both the NHS and private sector has given him an in-depth understanding of the key challenges facing the NHS and how these can be overcome through cross sector population-based solutions.

Derek McDermott, Commercial Director
Derek McDermott joined Health Intelligence in 2007 as Commercial Director and, is responsible for developing and executing its commercial strategy. The company has achieved rapid growth during that time and raised its profile within the UK health sector both in terms of the NHS and strategic partnerships that have been established. Derek has more than 25 years experience in a range of business disciplines, including operations, sales and marketing.
In 1989 he established a software company specialising in smart card and biometric security aimed specifically at the UK health and public sector markets. During the 1990’s and early 2000’s the company became a major supplier of computer and application access control software to the NHS through a national framework agreement established with the NHS. Following this Derek established his own business development and consulting service in 2004 to assist software companies in the development of products and the establishment of strategic channels to market. He assisted four major clients before joining Health Intelligence on a full time basis.

Dr Paul Davies, Business Development Director
Paul Davies joined Health Intelligence in the summer of 2010 as the Business Development Director to support the organisation through its next period of growth during a period of unprecedented change in the NHS.
Prior to joining Health Intelligence, Paul built up extensive knowledge in project and programme management working for Logica primarily in the Energy and Utilities industry. He then spent two and a half years working as a Programme Manager for the NHS in the North West overseeing a number of projects and building his business analysis, benefits realisation and numerical and statistical modeling skills. Paul's most recent NHS posting was as Head of Business Intelligence within the Commissioning Business Service (CBS) which provided support to PCTs through business intelligence, commissioning advice & support, procurement & market management and contract & performance management functions.
Paul is professionally qualified in Geophysics and Artificial Intelligence and has promised to complete his MSc Dissertation in Health Economics during 2011.
