Childhood Vaccinations and Immunisations

Childhood Immunisation and Vaccination programmes are a key weapon in combating serious childhood diseases and protecting our communities. Excellent data management is crucial to achieving the targets set within Vital Signs and therefore improving outcomes for the population without having to commission new immunisation services.

Our Approach

Health Intelligence, through our CDRIntell browser-based application, provide a comprehensive vaccination and immunisation record for individual patients which can be made available to any health professionals who need to understand the vaccination and immunisation status of their patients.  In addition, the module supports the scheduling of immunisations; the invitation of patients; the recording of exceptions; and provides Coverage and Gaps Analysis Reports.  It also supports Vaccination Campaigns though the ability to target invitations

Key Features

• Enables efficient review of the child’s vaccination status and rapidly identifies those due specific vaccinations
• Identify data quality weaknesses and improve the quality of data through the provision of data entry templates for General Practice
• Support the generation or suppression of invitation letters for specific vaccines (optionally this can be undertaken by the Practice or the Child Health Administration Department)
• Automated transfer of vaccination data to the Child Health systems

Achievements

Westminster PCT had one of the lowest vaccination and immunisation performances across all PCTs serving London, within a year of commencing use of CDRIntell’s Vaccination and Immunisation module, their performance changed dramatically and Westminster is now the best performing PCT, for all vaccinations, across London.
